The Human Performance Lab at Messiah University is filled with state of the art equipment that is able to measure and analyze a range of physiological metrics. While the technological advancements of wearable monitors is fascinating and impressive, coming to our lab takes away any guesswork and generic predictive algorithms. COMING SOON! Balance, stability and fall prevention profile

Cost: $300.00

Our balance and fall prevention profile is made up of a number of different tests on a range of state of the art equipment. We will measure your body sway on a range of conditions (eyes open, eyes closed, single leg and double leg, stable and unstable services, and more). Our Woodway Walker View treadmill performs a comprehensive movement and gate analysis. Given the substantial amount of data collection we schedule a separate 1-1 sit down to review your results with one of our Certified Exercise Physiologists

Body Composition

Cost: $75.00

We utilize the seca MBCA 515 to receive a medical grade body composition measurement. The test is non-invasive and takes less than five minutes. This service includes a detailed report printout as well as a thorough review of your results. Among other variables our Certified Exercise Physiologists will talk through your weight, body mass index, body fat mass, fat free mass, lean muscle mass, and the breakdown of where muscle and fat is located across the body.

Comprehensive Physiological Performance Assessment

Cost: $400.00

Our comprehensive assessment is an individualized assessment package designed for each client including a Max VO2 test, Functional Movement and Strength assessment, balance assessment and body composition.

Step one – complete a range of paperwork and questionnaires about your goals, health history, and exercise history
Step two – participate in a 30-minute video call with one of our exercise physiologists where we work to design your individualized assessment
Step three – spend up to 120 minutes in our Human Performance Lab completing your individualized assessment
Step four – review your results and recommendations at a later date after our Certified Exercise Physiologist has taken time to analyze each test and report

Functional Movement and Strength Assessment

Cost: $250.00

Our Certified Exercise Physiologists and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists lead you through a range of bodyweight movement screenings that progress in difficulty. Our goal is to fully analyze your movement pattern to determine strengths and weaknesses. Using state-of-the-art equipment, we compare knee flexion and extension strength on both legs. Based on your goals, training history, and movement screening score we work together to select what additional strength tests to complete. All scores are reviewed upon completion.

Max VO2 testing

Cost: $150.00

Using your choice of our state of the art treadmill or exercise bike we utilize industry standard equipment and protocols to measure your MaxVO2. While many tests and wearable devices attempt to predict your MaxVO2 you will leave the lab with actual measurement along with insight data on heart rate zone and anaerobic threshold training.
